Meredith College is pleased to announce Snapshot 20/20, a symposium to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment. The event will kick off with a keynote address on April 2, 2020 and offer concurrent panels and a range of activities with community partners through April 5, 2020.

Snapshot 20/20 will foster international and interdisciplinary scholarship and conversations focused on the social, economic, and political status of women and girls from 1920 to 2020.

Highlights of the symposium will include podcasts, panels, and exhibits in collaboration with The North Carolina Museum of History. Meredith’s theatre program, under the direction of Professor Cathy Rodgers, is creating a devised work on woman suffrage which will be performed at both Meredith College and the N.C. Museum of History during the symposium. In addition, associate Professor of Sociology Amie Hess and her students will share the 2019 edition of Meredith College's report on the Status of Girls in North Carolina.
