Hollins University Names Mary Dana Hinton, Ph.D., as the New President

Hollins University has announced that Mary Dana Hinton, Ph.D.,  president of the College of Saint Benedict (Saint Ben’s) in St. Joseph, Minnesota, will become the school’s next president. She officially takes office on August 1.

Kimberly Allen Named New Vice President for Academic Affairs at College of Saint Mary

College of Saint Mary President Dr. Maryanne Stevens, RSM, is pleased to announce that Dr. Kimberly Allen has been named the University’s new vice president for academic affairs. She began her duties on January 20.

As vice president for academic affairs, Allen will serve as the chief academic officer for CSM and be responsible for all educational activities in the undergraduate and graduate academic programs. She will also direct faculty in planning, evaluating and revising curriculum.

Alverno College Appoints Joseph Foy as New Vice President of Academic Affairs

President Andrea Lee, IHM, has appointed Joseph Foy, Ph.D., vice president for Academic Affairs. Foy, who is currently dean of the College of Arts, Sciences and Letters at Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wis., begins his appointment April 15.

Sweet Briar College and American Farmland Trust Partner to Support the Future of Women in Agriculture

Sweet Briar College and American Farmland Trust have agreed to collaborate on a number of programming initiatives that will support the future of women in agriculture, natural resource management and conservation.

Beginning with the 2020 - 2021 school year, plans include a conference on agriculture in Virginia, AFT leaders speaking at the College, internship opportunities at AFT, the College hosting an AFT Women for the Land Learning Circle for the Mid-Atlantic region and future opportunities to partner on scientific and social science research.

Agnes Scott College Offers New Master of Science Degree in Data Analysis and Communication Beginning Fall 2020

Agnes Scott College is expanding its graduate degree offerings to include a Master of Science degree in data analysis and communication beginning in fall 2020.

The new program expands on the graduate degree programs and certificates offered at the college and meets a growing need among data scientists. Students enrolling in this program will take courses that explore topics in ethical use of technology and data, data analysis, and principles of data visualization, among others, and will be able to tailor their degree to their interests through select elective courses.
