Mount Mary University's dedication to nurturing bold, brilliant women is built upon the traditions of social justice and educational opportunity upheld by the School Sisters of Notre Dame. Since 1913, these courageous women have infused Mount Mary with strong values and an unquenchable spirit.

Today, Mount Mary University continues the legacy of its founders through a mission of connecting creativity, social justice, leadership and a deep sense of purpose. We provide students with the knowledge and confidence to transform their careers and communities. Our focus on STREAM (science, technology reflection, engineering, art and math) prepares students to be leaders and game changers, ready to solve future challenges.

Points of pride

The university offers over 50 undergraduate majors open to women, and 12 graduate programs open to all genders. The university earned a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) designation in 2020 and helped form the Hispanic Serving Institution Network of Wisconsin (HSI-NOW), a coalition focused on expanding opportunities for diverse students. In 2023, the university was named number one in the Midwest for providing upward social mobility to our graduates by U.S. News and World Report.

Short History

Founded in 1901, Texas Woman’s in 2021 transformed into a university system with campuses in Denton, Dallas and Houston. More than half of its graduates earn health-related degrees, making Texas Woman’s a significant economic driver for Texas. The university offers a comprehensive catalog of academic studies, including baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral degrees in nursing, health professions, education, business and the arts and sciences. The university pioneered distance education and is recognized as a leader in delivering online instruction.
